Hello folks, welcome back ππ»
I want to start this post saying this is not a technical post, so if you are here looking for one of the crazy labs we share around here, this post is not for you π October was a very busy but special with so many activities, accomplishments and first time experiences that worth to have a dump to be registered (of course I did not have time to write about all of them).
AWS Black Belt LATAM – Containers π₯
The month started with the AWS LATAM Black Belt – Containers π₯, a specialization program for AWS partners focused on the entire AWS container ecosystem. I have to say that it was quite different from what I was expecting, with an approach to resources and tools that go far beyond AWS, but which are very important for guaranteeing the sustainable execution of containerized applications.
ParisπΌ
Not only for work lives the man π Got a weekend to go to Paris to celebrate my beloved wife’s birthday, end up going to Disneyland and visiting the Eiffel Tower during the weekend and visiting the city of light once again β¨
Sporting Race – 10KM ππ»
October also was the month in which I fulfilled a long-held goal of running my first race. I did the 10 KM Sporting π’βͺοΈ race, a very nice race that ends inside the JosΓ© Alvalade stadium in Lisbon. Surprisingly, I managed to finish the race in 1h12m, dead last π€£
AWS Cloud Experience Portugal π΅πΉ
The month also held my first participation in the AWS Cloud Experience Portugal, the biggest AWS event of the year. The event was amazing and an excellent opportunity to meeting old friends, make new ones and talk to a lot of people.
The day of the event was rounded off with an AWS community dinner with community buddies and AWS π½οΈ
Run the first AWS UG Cookbook Community Meetings #1 ποΈ
AWS UG Cookbook is a great community initiative that I’m proud to be part of, that aims to empower AWS user groups around the world. Run as host of the first Community Meeting, was a remarkable experience.
Earn the AWS Machine Learning Associate certification πͺͺ
During the month’s rush, I still managed to fit in a certification exam, which without a doubt was the most challenging part of this journey. If you want to know more details, I did a post talking exactly about it.
Became AWS User Group Lisbon Leaderπ
At the end of this eternal and fulfilling month, I received the news that I had been “promoted” to AWS User Group Leader of the AWS UG Lisbon βοΈ
Since I joined User Group, this was never really my goal, but seeing the community, the sharing, and the people who are part of it made a positive energy grow in me, which eventually overflowed into ideas, contributions, sharing knowledge, and helping the community in any way I could. I’m really happy for contributing with it and being part of it.
Huge thanks to Tiago, Fabricio and MarΓa, who have a big part in this achievement! I’m very happy to join this family π
